As the country in Europe most struck by the coronavirus, Italy’s death toll is closing on 500. Under the circumstances, Italy may become the first country in the world to do a nationwide lockdown.

意大利总理朱塞佩·孔特星期一临时决定进行新闻发布会，称现在是国家“最黑暗的时刻”，而人们“必须立刻调整生活习惯”。
In an unscheduled news conference, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said that it is the country’s ‘darkest hour’ and people ‘need to change our habits right now’.

新加坡卫生部本周一（3月9日）确认本地新增10例新冠病毒病例，其中6例可联系到裕廊战备军人协会俱乐部(Safra)的私人晚宴。
The Ministry of Health(MOH) of Singapore confirmed 10 new cases of Coronavirus infections on Monday (Mar 9), of whom six are linked to the Joy Garden private dinner function at Safra Jurong.

该感染群目前已造成36例确诊，成为本地最大的感染群。
The Safra Jurong cluster currently is the largest cluster in Singapore with 36 cases in total.

The newly confirmed cases of coronavirus infections make a new high on Sunday (Mar 8) by 1332 cases, putting the total number to 6021.

Under the breakout, Italy government drafted proposals for the lockdown of 12 regions, including the heavily populated Lombardy region with Milan as its capital, to prevent further spreading the virus.

The situation with coronavirus continues escalating over the past few days, there have been 415 confirmed cases and 19 deaths as of now.

美国华盛顿大学在3月7日出现第一例确诊病例，为一名工作人员。校方随后在6日正式发邮件宣布停课，将线下课程转为线上课程，从3月9日周一正式实行。
A first confirmed case, a staff at the University of Washington, was discovered on Mar 7. The school later sent an official email saying that ‘starting Monday, March 9, classes will no longer be meeting in person’.

There are thirteen new cases of coronavirus infections confirmed in Singapore, amongst which nine are linked to the new Safra Jurong cluster, the Ministry of Health said on Friday (Mar 6).

The new cluster now has 17 cases linked to it in total.

Five new cases of coronavirus infections have been confirmed on Thursday (Mar 5).

A New Zealand woman in her 30s was confirmed to be infected with Covid-19 this Wednesday (Mar 4). She travelled on a Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight from Milan to Singapore and then took an Air New Zealand flight from Singapore to Auckland on Feb 25.

The source of their infections was a 60-year-old Japanese male traveling to Indonesia.

South Korea sees 586 new cases of Coronavirus infections on Sunday (Mar 1), putting the total number at 3736, which is the highest outside of China.

South Korea’s Central Bank notes that the epidemic will hit both consumption and exports and anticipates a negative growth in the first quarter.
