The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has upheld the appeal filed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the Chinese swimmer Sun Yang and the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA). As a consequence, Sun Yang is sanctioned with an eight-year period of ineligibility, starting on the date of the CAS award.

孙杨将无缘东京奥运会，而他之前取得的成绩仍然有效。
While his previous results remain valid, Sun Yang will not be able to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Until now, there have been 89 total cases of confirmed infections, amongst which 51 have recovered and been discharged while 38 are still hospitalised, 5 of them are still in ICU.
