【香港区选】非建制派获得压倒性胜利 Opposition Camp gets a landslide victory in the election

香港昨天(11月24日)四年一度的区议会选举得到了有史以来最高的投票率,高达71%。
The district council election in Hong Kong yesterday (Nov 24) which happens once every four years saw a historical turnout of 71%.

今日选举结果出炉,据当地媒体报道,在18个区的452位议员中,非建制派获得了393个席位,占领17个选区,而建制派只获得59席。
The election result is released today. According to local media, out of 254 council members in 18 district councils, the Opposition Camp won 393 seats and will gain control of 17 district councils, whereas the Pro-establishment Camp only won 59 seats.

前日在在与港警冲突中被实弹射中的21岁学生已在本周三(11月20日)出院,他的一个肾和部分肝脏在手术过程中被摘除了。
The 21-year-old student who was shot with a real bullet by a policeman during a recent confrontation has been discharged by the hospital this Wednesday (20th Nov). One of his kidneys and part of his liver were removed in the course of his surgery.

今日在街头示威活动中,该学生呼吁香港选民积极参与本周末的选举,来获取“更多民主”。
During a street protest today, he urges Hong Kong voters to actively cast their ballots in the election this weekend to earn “more democracy”.

新加坡总理李显龙于本周末访问韩国,与韩国总统文在寅进行对话并参与11月25和26日的东盟六国纪念峰会。
Prime Minister Lee Hsian Loong is in South Korea this weekend for meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and upcoming Asian-ROK Commemorative Summit which will take place on November 25 and 26.

在会面中,李总理与文总统讨论了两国在新领域增强合作的可能性,包括网络安全、智能城市等等。
During their meeting, PM Lee and President Moon discussed the prospect of broadening the scope of the two countries’ ties to cybersecurity, smart cities and etc.

【科技】SpaceX火箭测试中爆裂 SpaceX rocket blows up during testing

世界知名的科技公司SpaceX今天在美国得克萨斯州进行下一代火箭的地面测试的过程中,发生部分爆裂,喷发大量气体。
During a pressurisation testing of a prototype rocket by world-renown tech company SpaceX at Texas, US today, parts of the rocket blows up, releasing a purge of air.

原定使用该火箭模型进行低空飞行的计划可能也会相应推迟。公司总裁埃隆·马斯克在推特上表示,公司可能会使用其他型号进行飞行测试
The original plan to practice flights at a low altitude of this prototype might also be postponed. Company CEO, Elon Musk tweeted that the company might retire this ship and used other models for flight testings.

【狮城实事】新加坡小六会考放榜 PSLE result released today

今日(11月21日)新加坡小学离校考试成绩公布,98.4%的升学率与过去三年一致。
The Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) result is released today (21st Nov). The secondary school acceptance rate is the same as the previous three years at 98.4%.

学生们将在本月27日同家长一起申请心仪中学,申请结果将于12月20日出炉。
Together with their parents, students will apply to their dream secondary schools by the 27th of this month. The application result will be released on 20th Dec.

【狮城实事】首批送餐员援助落实 Grant kicks in for the first batch of food delivery riders

自从新加坡政府颁布电动滑板车的新政,为了帮助本地送餐员渡过难关,政府拨款700万新币来帮助送餐员用其他可行交通工具代替电动滑板车,上限为1000新币。
Due to the new policy regarding e-scooters, in order to assist food delivery riders through this transition, the Singapore government has set up a $7 million grant so that the riders can trade in their e-scooters for up to $1000 each to fund their switch to other modes of transportations.

【特朗普弹劾案】美外交官Soundland做出证词 US diploma Soundland testified

今日(11月20日),美国赴欧盟外交官Gordon Soundland做出证词,称他在特朗普的指示下对乌克兰总统施加压力,以调查特朗普总统的竞选对手来换取“安排一次白宫会面”。
Today (20th Nov), US diplomat to European Union, Mr. Gordon Soundland said that he pushed Ukranian President to investigate President Trump’s political rival in exchange for ‘arranging a White House visit’ under Mr. Trump’s orders.

弹劾案问询仍在进行,上述证词明显对特朗普总统不利。
The above remark is clearly against President Trump as the impeachment inquiry continues.

本月初,新加坡政府针对驾驶电动滑板车发布了一项禁令,这大大影响到很多使用该工具的送餐员的工作。
Earlier this month, a ban regarding the use of e-scooters was published by the Singapore government, which will greatly affect a lot of food delivery men who are using e-scooters in the course of their work.

【香港示威】11月17日更新 Hong Kong protest: 17th Nov updates

1. 一些港民自发走上街头清理路障,与黑衣示威者发生少许冲突,但无人受伤。
Some Hong Kong citizens took the initiative to clear roadblocks. There were some minor confrontations with the protestors but luckily no one was hurt.

2. 有约80名解放军驻港军人下午帮忙清理路障。
About 80 soldiers from the People’s Liberation Army helped citizens with the roadblocks.

【香港示威】香港律政司司长伦敦遇袭 Hong Kong Justice Secretary being attacked in London

昨日(14日)晚,香港律政司司长郑若骅在伦敦出席活动时被一群香港示威者围堵,在推搡中郑女士跌倒,疑似手臂受伤。
14th evening, Hong Kong Justice Secretary Teresa Cheng was surrounded and jostled by a group of Hong Kong protestors when attending an event in London, during the process she fell down, suspected that her arm was injured.

因曾支持修订现已被撤回的逃犯条例,郑女士在香港示威者的角度来看支持率不高。
Ms. Cheng does not have much support among Hong Kong protestors due to her support for the now-withdrawn extradition bill.
