在星期日发生的幸运商业中心车祸中的两名死者的其中之一，Abigail Nanao Leste女士，是家庭的唯一经济来源。
One of the victims of the car accident which took place at Lucky Shopping Centre on Sunday, Ms. Abigail Nanao Lesta, was the sole provider of her family.

时年41岁，Leste女士早前与丈夫分居。随着她的离世，她的一双儿女痛失母亲的同时，未来也会面临一些坎坷。
Aged 41 this year, Ms. Leste was separated from her husband. Her daughter and son will not only be losing their mom but also face some obstacles in the foreseeable future.

她的一些亲友今天给她进行了一个守灵仪式。
A wake was arranged today by some friends and family.

星期日（12月29日）下午，乌节路的幸运商业中心外发生一起汽车导致行人两死四伤的意外。
Sunday (Dec 29) afternoon, a car accident outside of Lucky Shopping Centre at Orchard road led to two deaths and four injuries.

肇事车辆撞倒穿过一条金属栅栏后，撞倒数名行人后停在了商业中心门口。肇事车主，65岁，已被警方带走调查。
The car crashed through a metal railing, hit several pedestrians and finally stopped near the mall entrance. The driver, aged 65, has been arrested by the police for questioning.

倒地行人随后被送往陈笃生医院就医，然而两名在救治后仍失去了生命。
The injured party was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, however, two later died from the injuries.

新加坡今日（12月26日）下午1时23分，时隔21年再次出现了日环食现象，并在下午3时18分左右结束。
After 21 years, a solar eclipse is observed in Singapore at local time 1:23 pm, Dec 26. The solar eclipse ended around 3:18 pm.

众多本地天文爱好者聚集在最佳观景点，观看日环食。
Many local astronomy enthusiasts gathered at optimal observing spots and enjoyed the view of the solar eclipse.

虽然大部分阳光被月亮遮住了，但是直视日环食仍会对人眼造成伤害。
Even though the majority of sunlight was blocked by the moon, directly staring at it might still be harmful to human eyes.

China’s Premier Li Keqiang, along with Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in made their appearance at the 8th trilateral leader’s meeting between China, Japan, and South Korea in Chengdu, China on Dec 24.

据彭博社报道，波音公司首席执行官Dennis Muilenburg已经辞职，David Calhour接任首席执行官，Lawrence Kellner接任董事会主席。
CEO of Boeing company, Dennis Muilenburg has already resigned, Bloomberg said. David Calhour will take his place as CEO and Lawrence Kellner will be chairmen of the Board.

波音公司声明，必须更换领导层来恢复公众对公司的信任。
In a statement of Boeing, they mentioned that they need to change their management team in order to regain the trust of the public.

波音公司的公众信任度在近两年的几起飞机失事后持续降低。
The company’s public trust has been lowering since a few planes crashed in the recent two years.

中国财务部23日宣称将于明年短期采用更低的进口税。
China will implement temporary import tariffs which are lower, said the finance ministry on Dec 23.

The affected products include frozen pork, avocados, some types of semiconductors and etc.

中国希望这一举措可以促进收到中美贸易战影响而暂缓的经济发展。
China looks to boost its economy which has been slowed down due to the trade war.

12月19日晨，美国众议院就总统特朗普的两项弹劾做出表决。在民主党为多数的众议院，弹劾案的通过几乎毫无悬念。
On the morning of Dec 19, the House of Representatives arrived at a final decision of the two articles of impeachment towards US President Trump. In the Democratic-led House, passing the impeachment has no suspense.

特朗普是美国历史上第三位被弹劾的总统。
Mr. Trump is the third President in the history of the US that has been impeached.

英国原定于2020年1月31日脱欧，并在2020年年底前结束将近一年的过渡期。
The UK is scheduled to leave the EU ON Jan 31, 2020, and conclude an almost-one-year transition period by the end of 2020.

然而，如果英国和欧盟一致同意，脱欧过渡期可延长至两年。
However, in the case that the UK and EU mutually agree, the transition period may be extended to 2 years.

近期对脱欧协议的修改可能会取消延期的可能性。
A recent amendment to the Brexit deal might rule out the possibility of the extension.

印度近日通过了一项针对非法移民的新法案。该法案给来自印度的三个邻国——巴基斯坦、阿富汗斯坦和孟加拉的移民提供公民权。
India has recently passed a new law relating to illegal immigrants. The law provides citizenship to immigrants from three of India’s neighboring countries, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh.

This law has led to protests in many big cities, including New Dehli, Mumbai and etc. Many have been injured or detained by the police.

India’s Prime Minister has appealed for calm to the protestors.
