In a way, this is similar to the phenomenon that we see in Singapore where instead of bilibili, we have youtube. Many of these youtubers (creators of the videos) would make sure that their thumbnails are captivating. Sometimes, it even has what we call 'click-baits', where they bait people to click on their video.
