The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has upheld the appeal filed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the Chinese swimmer Sun Yang and the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA). As a consequence, Sun Yang is sanctioned with an eight-year period of ineligibility, starting on the date of the CAS award.
孙杨将无缘东京奥运会，而他之前取得的成绩仍然有效。
While his previous results remain valid, Sun Yang will not be able to participate in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
孙杨有30天的时间对判决提出上诉。
He has 30 days to make an appeal against the decision.
当事人已发声称对这一裁决结果感到“震惊、愤怒，不能理解”，并“已经委托律师依法向瑞士联邦最高法院提起上诉。”
Sun Yang said that he feels “shocked, angry and cannot process” this ruling and he has appointed attorneys to appeal to the Swiss Federal Tribunal against the CAS’s decision.
