《演戏给你看》这部小品有三个主角,分别是村主任,句主任、被要挟去吹捧村主任的村民,孙二愣子和暗访的干部,高科长。
‘yǎnxìgěinǐkàn (meaning Act For You)’ has three main characters, head of a village ‘Director Ju’, a villager who is leveraged to say nice things about Director Ju ‘Sun Erlengzi’ and an undercover official ‘Section Chief Gao’
1.
Sūn èrlèngzi: nǐ méigěiwǒ cíer zěnme chuī?
孙二愣子:你没给我词儿怎么吹?
Sun: How can I talk you up if you do not provide me a script?
Jù: búyàojǐng, nǐ jiùshuō wǒ gànguòde nàxiē hǎoshì.
句主任:不要紧,你就说我干过的那些“好事”。
Ju: No problem! You just say the ‘nice things’ which I have done.
Sūn èrlèngzi: nǐ gànguò hǎoshì ma?
孙二愣子:你干过好事吗?
Sun: Have you done anything nice?
Jù zhǔrèn: wǒ gànguò háiyòng nǐ chuī ma?
句主任:我干过还用你吹嘛?
Ju: If I have done any, who need you?
Keywords:
1. 吹(chuī)In this case, it means to brag about somebody.
2. 不要紧(bùyàojǐn)no problem, do not worry
3. 好事(hǎoshì)nice things
Why we laugh:
1. Although 好事 means nice things, in everyday conversation, it is usually used ironically to refer to bad things, depending on the context. In this lines, the meaning of 好事 in Director Ju’s line is more ironical and in Sun’s line is more literal.
2. 我+verb过+还用+action? It means If somebody has done sth., would that somebody need…? 过(guò) is used after verbs to indicate the action has been done. 还(hái)isan adverb meaning still. 用(yòng)means to need.
