[Chinese Learning] Wishing a new year in Chinese!

Christmas is over and the next up and coming event is the new years!
While the Chinese didn't use to celebrate the new years on the 31st December since we have our own lunar calendar and our own Chinese New year. However, as with modern times, people are now coming together every year to celebrate the new year with fireworks and celebrations!

1. 守夜
shou ye
This translates to vigil; staying up until midnight/through the night. Similar to families that will stay up until midnight for Christmas (to open presents) or New Year’s as they celebrate out, the Chinese will stay up through the night as well.

2. 4. 新年快乐
xīn nián kuài lè
This means Happy New Year

A necessary phrase to learn for the occasion:
祝你新年快乐
zhù nǐ xīn nián kuài lè
This means: To Wish you a Happy New Year
