As a multiracial country, Singapore celebrates the festivals of all its major ethnic groups and religious groups, among which the more important ones become public holidays, Good Friday included.

对于基督教徒来说,圣周五和复活节都是很重要的节日。圣周五是复活节两天前的星期五,而复活节是春分月圆后的第一个星期天。复活节每年的时间并不固定,通常在3月22日和4月25之间。
To Christians, Good Friday and Easter are both very important festivals. Good Friday is two days before Easter, whereas Easter is the first Sunday after the full moon that occurs next after the vernal equinox. The date of Easter is not fixed, usually between 22nd Mar and 25th Apr.
耶稣在圣周五被犹大出卖,钉死在十字架上,所以这一天又被称为“耶稣受难日”。而耶稣又在两天之后的星期天复活了,所以这一天被称为“复活节”。
Jesus was betrayed by Judas on Good Friday, which caused him to be crucified on a cross. Hence, this day is also referred to as ‘Yēsū shòunàn rì (the day on which Jesus suffered calamities)”. Then, Jesus resurrected two days later on Sunday, hence this day is referred to as ‘fùhuò jié (the festival of re-live)”.

Christians will go to the church, sing praises together, eat some special food, find Easter eggs, and etc. Some people who are not Christians also take part in the celebration activities of family or friend, to feel the importance and greatness of this holiday.
