如果你还不知道，一带一路是由中国国家主席习近平在2013年提出的一个合作倡议（hézuò chàngyì – n. cooperative initiative）。它旨在在欧亚大陆（ōuyàdàlù – n. the continents of Europe and Asia）乃至全世界多国国家之间通过投资、进出口等方式建立经济合作关系（jīngjì hézuò guānxi – n. economic cooperative relationship），来促进共同发展。
If you haven’t heard, the Belt & Road Initiative is a cooperative initiative raised by China President Xi Jinping in 2013. Its purpose is to promote mutual development and forging economic bonds in various ways such as investment, import, and export between countries in Asia, Europe, and even the whole world.
近日习近平主席访问意大利罗马期间，中意两国一共签署（qiānshǔ – v. to sign (a contract)）了价值25亿欧元的29项协议（xiéyì – n. contract deal）。
Recently, China and Italy have signed a total of 29 deals which worth about 2.5 billion Euros during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Rome, Italy.
意大利成为了首个加入一带一路项目的发达国家（fādá guójiā – n. developed country）。
Italy becomes the first ever developed country joining the Belt & Road Initiative.
虽然这一进展在众多西方国家之间引发了一些担忧（yǐnfā le yīxiē dānyōu – raised some concerns. 引发担忧 is a fixed phrase for raise concerns），意大利政府内部也有聚讼纷纭（jùsòngfēnyún – (idiom) have a lot of debate and disagreements）的现象，但是希望对于希望把一带一路项目扩张到欧洲的中国，和2018年末开始经济不景气（bùjǐngqì – v. economy to recess）的意大利，这次合作会是双赢（shuāngyíng – v. win-win）。
China has long hoped to expand the Belt & Road Initiative to Europe and Italy has seen some recession in its economy since the end of 2018. Although this recent development has raised some concerns among many Western countries and even some disagreement inside the Italy government, let us hope that this cooperation would be a win-win, to both China and Italy.
