新加坡一名72岁的年长男士在16日上午接种（jiēzhòng – v. to receive (a vaccine)）了第一剂新冠病毒的疫苗，谁能想到当晚他就经历了心脏骤停(xīnzàng zhòutíng – n. cardiac arrest)，随即送至陈笃生医院的加护病房(jiāhù bìngfáng – n. intensive-care unit)抢救。
这位老者接种的是辉瑞-BioNTech生产的疫苗。这则新闻在本地还是引起了一波争议，因为这有可能是首个和接种疫苗相关的病例。
一方面来说，很多人一直在担心新冠疫苗是否有副作用(fùzuòyòng – n. side effect)。无论是哪个公司的疫苗，从研发到上市都仅经过短短的一年时间。同以往的其他疫苗相比，临床试验(línchuáng shìyàn – n. clinical trial)的时间大大减少，这不禁让人质疑新冠疫苗的安全性。

“Based on Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s initial assessment there is no indication that the cardiac arrest was due to Covid-19 vaccination,” said MOH on Thursday.
新加坡卫生部本周四称，根据陈笃生医院的初步评估，没有迹象表明该男子的心脏骤停是由接种新冠疫苗引起的。
MOH said trained healthcare personnel had assessed the patient to be suitable for the Covid-19 vaccination.
卫生部表明在接种疫苗前，专业医护人员已评估该男子的身体状况是适合接种疫苗的。
In line with the ministry’s protocols, the man was under observation on-site for about 30 minutes after the vaccination and was well.
在接种疫苗后，该男子也遵循卫生部的条例留在现场观察半个小时，状况良好。
