马来西亚首相慕尤丁星周一宣布，为了抑制新冠病毒的传播，马来西亚将从本周三（3月18日）开始全面封锁边境，这一措施将持续到3月31日。
Malaysian Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced on Monday that Malaysia will be in a nationwide lockdown from Wednesday (Mar 18) until March 31 to curb the spread of Covid-19.
他在电视直播中说：“现任阶段政府的首要任务是防止病毒传播，减少对人民的影响。因此，我们必须采取严厉地措施。政府已经决定在3月18日至3月31日这一期间落实‘限制行动法案’”。
“The government’s priority now is to avoid the spreading of new infections, which will affect more people. Therefore, drastic action needs to be taken. The government has decided to implement ‘restriction of movement order’ starting from March 18 to March 31”, he said in an announcement on TV.
这意味着所有马来西亚人不可以离境，而外国人也禁止入境。
This means all Malaysians will be banned from travelling abroad and no foreigners will be allowed to enter.
这样重大的措施将会带来众多影响，不仅对马来西亚，对邻国新加坡也是一样。比方说，每天有大约30万马来西亚人往返边境来新工作。我们尚不确定两国政府将会怎样减弱这些影响。
This drastic measure will certainly have great impacts on both Malaysia and neighbouring Singapore. For example, there are about 300,000 Malaysians travel across border daily to work in Singapore. How the two governments work together to minimize the impacts is still unclear.
