新加坡卫生部今日（5月18日）新增682起冠病病例，总病例达2万8343起。今天的新病例多数是住在宿舍的客工，另外2人是本地公民或永久居民。
The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed today (May 17) 305 new Covid-19 cases, a total of 28,343 cases. Most of the new cases today are guest workers living in dormitories, and the other two are local citizen or PR.
根据卫生部提供给《联合早报》的资料，社区内的有效传染数在病毒阻断措施期间逐渐下降，截至本月10日为0.5，比2月下旬的1.1高峰来得低。
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Health to 《Lianhe Zaobao》, the number of effective infections in the community gradually declined during the virus blocking measures, and was 0.5 at the end of the month, which was lower than the peak of 1.1 in late February.
不过卫生部提醒，即使接下来陆续解除阻断措施，仍须保持安全距离与实行安全管理措施，才能确保有效传染数不超过1，以控制疫情，避免病例反弹。
