Labor market estimates for the third quarter of this year are mixed, with total employment increasing by more than 20,000, which is higher than in the previous quarter and a year ago. However, the number of layoffs is 25% more than in the previous quarter, and the overall unemployment rate has also reached a 10-year high, indicating that the gap between jobs and skills is widening.
