A report was published in the journal Nature-Astronomy. For the first time, astronomers have discovered water in a planetary atmosphere in a galaxy outside the solar system. This major discovery means that it is likely to have signs of supporting life. Scientists refer to this planet as K2-18b, which estimates that there may be up to 50% of the water in the K2-18 atmosphere, and hopes that a new generation of space telescopes 10 years later will identify whether the planet's atmosphere contains gases produced by organisms.
